Wondering where to take your senior pictures around the Seattle-Tacoma area? Luckily, there are so many incredible places to choose for your senior photoshoot because we are surrounded by beautiful gardens, fields, parks, forests, lakes, beaches, mountains, and urban settings!
Once you book your senior photoshoot with Mikayla Arsenian Photography, then you will fill out the Senior Survey questionnaire in the MAP Senior HUB, so you can let me know what types of locations you are interested in (ex. urban, garden, fields, etc) for your senior photoshoot. Then, we will meet over Zoom for your Fashion Consultation to plan your senior session and decide on your locations based on your interests and outfits. During your Fashion Consultation, I will show you a slideshow of location options with photos so you can decide which one(s) fit your style best!
Here’s a list of some of my favorite photoshoot spots in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area:
GARDENS
We all know that Spring and Summer in Washington means a bouquet of wildflowers with lush green botanicals all over the place! Each month offers so many beautiful types of plants that are in bloom. From hydrangeas, rose gardens, rhododendrons, dahlias, sunflowers, and lavender fields - there are SO many options to choose as the backdrop for your senior photos! If you want flowers included in your senior photos I recommend scheduling your photoshoot between March-early October. To be honest, I LOVE finding hidden gardens throughout neighborhoods! Along my journey of finding perfect photoshoot locations, I also discovered popular flower fields throughout the Puget Sound.

1. Scattered Seeds Flower Farm (Monroe)

WATERFRONT
We are beyond fortunate to live so close to several bodies of water. From beaches, lakes and rivers - there are so many great locations to take your senior photos with water in the background! Here are a few of my favorite spots:

FIELDS
One of the most popular requests for senior photoshoot locations is a big open field with tall grass or wildflowers. During the Spring and early Summer the fields will have more hues of green, while in mid-Summer through Winter the grass has a beautiful golden hue. Here are a couple of my favorite field photoshoot locations near the Seattle-Tacoma area:
1. Fort Steilacoom Park (Steilacoom)
3. Discovery Park (Seattle)
CITY/URBAN
For seniors that are looking for an urban setting for their senior photos I recommend exploring Downtown Tacoma. There are so many cool places to check out and take photos. There's so many hidden gems in Downtown Tacoma so make sure to drive through every street to find the best spots. Some of the most iconic spots include the Spanish Steps, Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, and Opera Alley. If you want to explore urban settings up in the Northern region of the Puget Sound, I recommend to check out Downtown Seattle and Bellevue.
