As a senior photographer based in the Seattle-Tacoma area, it's extremely important that my seniors know what to wear for their senior photos so they look and feel their absolute best! With several years of experience photographing high school seniors, I know what type of outfit styles, colors, and fashion should be avoided when it comes to senior photos.

Learn the TOP 4 outfit choices to avoid for your senior session:

01. Neon Colors: Neon colors can be distracting in photoshoots and make you look unnatural. They can cause a color cast on your skin, which can make your skin color appear different and uneven. For example, if you're wearing a red neon shirt, then the neon color would make your skin look red in your senior pictures.

02. Wrinkled Clothes: Your outfits are a reflection of your personality and style, so it’s super important for them to look clean and wrinkle-free. It's not an easy task for senior photographers to remove wrinkles on clothing post-editing, so before your senior session make sure to iron your clothing and bring them on hangers to your senior photoshoot.

03. Busy Patterns: While I do encourage my seniors to wear floral patterns and simple stripes, it’s important to remember that clothing with busy, bold, and bright patterns will draw attention away from your face. You can always double check with your senior photographer to make sure your outfits with patterns will look great in your photos!

04. Wearing the same Colors and Outfit Styles: Repeating the same colors and outfit styles can lack variety in your senior photos, so try to find different types of outfits and colors to wear for your session. For example, wear an outfit with a blue top and a white pair of jeans. The next outfit could be a pink dress or cute romper! Mix it up with styles and colors that you love!
